Use these plot points in your story to the mark. You can mix and match them
pretty much as you like.
- Parent(s) died recently
- Boyfriend cheated
- Need hospital admittance fee so relative can get a life-saving operation
- From US, but currently out of country
- Have to travel to Nigeria to pick up bodies/death certificates
- Possibly out of the country/in Africa for work (aka modeling tour)
- Lost tickets home or they're not honored for some reason
- Didn't know about Burden Transit Allowance or Basic Travel
Allowance (BTA) or some other obscure fee
- Trouble with hotel bill
- Arrested
- Need to bribe an official to be allowed to leave
- Need a new bank account set up in US to transfer inheritance/stolen funds into
- Need to move, and the deposit is due before the next paycheck
